Negative

Well the Nurse Practitioner was right with her prediction. I woke up one morning and the bloating and cramping was gone. I started 2 days later.  It really bugs me that she was so negative about the whole thing. I really think she has an issue with me being single because of comments she made. I am undecided on what to do. I'm not really comfortable with this doctors office at all. I am considering another office but I don't really want to have to start all over with the testing that the new office requires. They are also a lot farther away from me.

Does anyone have any experience with an ICI (Intracervical Insemination) instead of an IUI? The nurse practitioner at the current doctor's office I am going to told me she didn't even know what an ICI was. Not real reassuring!  I was considering doing the ICI with the same office but now I'm not so sure. The bank I am using will ship to my home with a doctors signature so that is an option as well. I just don't know that much about it (ICI) and I don't know anyone who has gone that route.

Since it didn't work this time I decided to tackle another major home project and build a back porch. My Mom and I have got most of the wall framing done and I will hopefully have the roof on in a few days. Thank God for my Mom, I don't know what I'd do without her!!

  1. Sorry to hear that it was a negative, I had my fingers crossed for you.

I have done ICI at home insemination. The problem in Germany is that single woman are not treated by fertility clinics so I would have had to travel abroad and to be honest, the cost involved just scared me off, especially if I needed a few tries.
I have had a few tries with ICI when I still lived in the UK (all unsuccessful), then did a break for 1.5 years after moving to Germany. I had my first ICI in September this year and now am 5 weeks 6 days pregnant. Now I am worried that everything is alright and can't wit for the first doctors appointment which is not until next week.
I be happy to talk more about the process with you if you are interested.

To be honest, I would not want to stay in a doctors office that doesn't make you feel welcome.

  2. Sorry to hear it didn't work out, and that you don't feel comfortable at your doctor's office. If you switched offices, couldn't they just send your tests results from the old office to the new one?
